360icons is proud to announce a new ladder system, starting with an open Beta competitive ladder starting May 12th.
360icons is proud to announce the launch of our very own ladder system! For years, our website has offered gamers the best and largest free online tournaments. While weekly tournaments will still be running and are the backbone of our website, we also know it’s important to give gamers something to strive for between these weekly events. The best and easiest way to do that, is with a ladder system, where teams and players can find competition in the same skill level and game modes they are looking for.
The ladders and associated leaderboard will give a well needed boost of excitement to mid week team scrims and best of nine series, giving competitors something to play for, and allowing spectators to follow top teams' results.
The system is linked to your Icons team page, where the captains will be able to find matches against other teams registered on the ladder. The results will earn players Icons XP and boost their Icons rank. This depends on a number of factors including wins, losses and opponent XP however the exact formula is kept secret and will be tweaked to ensure a perfect balance.
The beta ladder is designed as a precursor for what we have planned to come. This ladder will hopefully provide us with the feedback and information we need to make sure our final product of a ladder system is the best that it can be. However, to do this we need our participants’ help and cooperation. With all new things, there are bound to be a few bugs, kinks and simple tweaks we can make to help make the ladders run as smoothly as possible. Please give us any feedback you may have.
The easiest way to provide us with your thoughts on our new system is to tweet directly @icn_ice. You can also use the private message system to directly contact any staff member with thoughts or problems you may have with the ladder. Our staff will be monitoring in-boxes even more closely over the next month to make sure your voice is heard. For disputes and in-match problems, you can handle them like any other site problem by simply submitting a support ticket or visiting live support, if/when available.
